Dan Badgley – 2015 Lifetime Explorer Recipient

Dan Badgley
National Sales Manager, Aqua Lung America

Our 2015 recipient is Dan Badgley. Dan is currently the National Sales Manager for Aqua Lung America and is retiring at the end of this year. Dan exemplifies this award with the true dedication of his life to the diving community.

Dan grew up in the Columbus area of Ohio where he went to Ohio State. He has been married 45 yrs to Sally, his high school sweetheart.

Dan worked at Reliance Electric, a 1904 company that started with creating the Arc light bulb but was beat out by Thomas Edison’s incandescent design, eventually moved into electrical based products and was then acquired by Exxon in 1979.

Dan left Exxon to start a dive store in the Atlanta area, Scuba Quest, in the late 1980’s. By 1992, Dan came to work at Sea Quest as area sales manager for the Southeast region. Dan was instrumental in the consolidation of US Divers and Sea Quest in 1998/99 to form Aqua Lung America where he became sales manager in 2005 and with his retirement this year, will conclude over 30 years of service to the dive industry!

Dan is a lifelong motorhead and one of his hobbies is restoring old mini bikes (has a garage full of about 15 various bikes and parts) and currently rides a Harley Nightster.
